Day #3 and STILL killin it!

Happy Birthday to my Dear Father on this lovely day!
I'd like to congratulate myself on completing a successful gourmet meal for today's task!..

Day #3: Cook a Gourmet Meal for someone I love
Gourmet Meal = SWEDISH MEATBALLS!

Just call me Betty Crocker!

I was so brave today, wanna know why?

Well... first of all I set off this morning to conquer one of my biggest weaknesses
...Cooking, of course.

But want to know the other fear I conquered?
...Raw meat. ick.

 I was terrified.
But don't worry, after a few minutes of hesitation and my mom's advice to "pretend like it's play-doh!"
I finally did it.
that meat was MAN HANDLED... PERIOD.

More importantly than conquering my fears though, today... I was able to cook a Birthday meal for one of the greatest guys in the world, one of the guys I love the most!

MY DAD!
Swedish Meatballs and Sauce with Egg Noodles and Deliciously Cooked Brussel Sprouts.
Gosh, I love this man.

I also thoroughly enjoyed being home over the winter break. Tomorrow I go back up to the Great city of Salt Lake to set out on my next big adventure. My 4th semester, the semester in which I will get straight A's!
MAAAANNN...
See what I mean?... this word of the year is already getting to me...

What is YOUR word of the year?! Think of one or two words that you'd like to define your year... Set goals, not just resolutions!

GOOODNIGHT!

Love, Sydney

  1. Go, Betty Crocker! It took me awhile to get over the raw meat thing, too. I like your mom's advice. I love brussels sprouts! Way to do something special for your dad.
